Blue Ridge Parkway in the Summer
52.5 x 51.5"

This quilt is a sequel to the Blue Ridge Parkway spring quilt. It contains 36 pictures, all of which were shot on the Parkway in the early summer of 2001. One of the photos is of Dodder (seen at the top of the log cabin block), an unusual leafless plant that has no chlorophyl and is a parasitic plant, wrapping itself around other plants in a tangled mess and feeding off of them. The three blocks that make up the quilt are Delectable Mountains (corner blocks), Evening Star (center block) and Log Cabin (remaining blocks).
